In the largest open air museum
of Slovenia I took this photo of a toplar which is generally used for drying
and storing hay and other agricultural harvest.
Reflection of Telč
Besides this marvellous reflection
Telč is famous for
its
town square with houses in the style of Baroque and
Renaissance which got listed as UNESCO World Heritage
Site in 1992.
Belvedere Gardens
On a cold winter day I went down town through the Belvedere
Gardens. A snow covered fabulous creature watched my steps
on the way to the Lower Belvedere which you can see in the
background.
Upper Belvedere
On a cold winter day I walked through the gardens of the
summer palace of Prince Eugen. The Upper Belvedere Palace
was only for representation. The home of the prince was in
the Lower Belvedere.
Bogenšperk Castle
In this castle lived and worked the famous historian castle expert historian
Johann Weichard
Valvasor.
Snežnik Castle
The castle near the town Kozarisce is one of the seldom Slovenian castles which
has not lost its furniture after World War II.
Sümeg Castle
After a heavy rain, I reached the castle Sümeg, which have
turned into the seat of a diocese after the fall of
Veszprém.
Kinizsi Castle
On the former stronghold of the legendary military leader
Pál Kinizsi I learned a lot about
the rooms and the furniture of residential towers.
Archaeology Park
Gorsium
Next to Tác in Hungary I walked in the footsteps of the
Romans between the remains of the Roman settlement Gorsium.
Festetics Castle
The Festetics castle dates back to 1745 and offers a large library and
various exhibitions.
Museum of Roman History
Above the remains of the Roman city Flavia Solva I visited a museum about
Roman history in the Styrian town Wagna.
Rabenstein Castle
A view of Rabenstein Castle from a train ride. You can see
the older part as well as the younger part of the castle.
